Diane Pitts

Diane Pitts previously served as the Texas Horse Park, Inc.’s (THPI) interim Executive Director. As such, she was responsible for, among other things, the day-to-day management of THPI, coordination of THPI’s master planning process, representing the THPI with various other nonprofits and governmental and nongovernmental entities and coordinating the work of the Board’s committees. Ms. Pitts retired from the practice of law in 2003 after 24 years with the law firm of Jenkens & Gilchrist, P. C, where she specialized in corporate, partnership and securities law and, prior to her retirement, was the firm’s general counsel. She has a B. A. from Southern Methodist University and a J. D. from the University of Virginia. Diane has served on numerous nonprofit boards, including, among others, Friends of Fair Park, Dallas Women’s Museum Advisory Board, Dallas Women’s Foundation, YWCA Women’s Resource Center and Child Care Group. She is a founder of Attorneys Serving the Community, an organization of Dallas attorneys that has raised nearly $2 million for various Dallas nonprofits. She was appointed by Honorable Gary Griffith as a member of the South Dallas Fair Park Trust Fund Board and also served on Mayor Annette Strauss’ Trade and Investment Task Force. Actively involved with the DISD, Ms. Pitts has served on the Superintendent’s Community Advisory Committee and was instrumental in bringing the school district and the City of Dallas together in the Randall Park project in East Dallas. Ms. Pitts’ is an avid horse lover and rider and her involvement with the equestrian community developed through her son’s eventing competitions. She is past secretary of the Area V Council of the US Eventing Association. Diane is also a founder,co-owner and vice-president of ClearVet, Inc., a company formed to adapt, manufacture and market the next generation of ultra sound equipment for animals.
