P. Kevin Payne, Vice President and Director

As central region vice president of NFIB (National Federation of Independent Business) through year-end 2006, Kevin Payne was responsible for the National Federation of Independent Business Central U.S. Operations; which includes the states of North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana.Before joining NFIB, Mr. Payne served at Verizon Communications in Irving, Texas, as an executive director responsible for areas of product development, project management, public policy, marketing and corporate communications. Mr. Payne has a long and varied career with Verizon and GTE Corporation, holding several key management positions including assistant vice president and vice president. Mr. Payne attended Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles and holds a Master's of Business Administration. He resides in Dallas with his wife Lynette, Executive Director of Galaxy Counseling Center in Garland, and daughter Lauren. Mr. Payne has served on the boards of Goodwill Industries of Honolulu Inc., the Hawaii Youth Opera Chorus, DARE Officers Association and Oahu Economic Development Board. In Texas, Payne has served on the board of Galaxy Counseling Center, The Center for Nonprofit Management, Trinity Commons Foundation and the Diversity Committee for Greenhill School. He has also co-chaired strategic plan development for Project Safe Neighborhoods, a program of the U.S. Department of Justice.
